Fashion Friday
I am hoping that making themes for certain days of the week would prompt me to update more. I mean I DO have a lot of photos that have yet seen light…
I’ve always liked how words alliterate so I’ll have Fashion Fridays and Wedding Wednesdays. Unfortunately, I can’t think of anything else. Well, there’s Manic Mondays, but I thought it sounded kinda of lame (my apologies to all the Manic Mondays out there).
So today is Fashion Friday. Here are some pictures I shot of Anna Bradfield. I learned that she was on the second cycle of ANTM. Pretty cool! No wonder why she looked so familiar…
Anna is the second model I’ve shot with Talent Network Management. She has such energy and spunk–it’s amazing!

What’s New?
Sometimes I forget about blogging–I used to do it almost everyday when I was younger. But I’m a lot older now and things are getting more hectic! My goal for this year is to blog more…I hope!
As some of you may or may not know, I’ve been recently engaged! Seriously, I didn’t think anyone would marry me! Haha…Do other girls think that way?
He proposed on our anniversary at the Spice Market in the W hotel on January 1st. I didn’t think much of it because January 1st is kind of cliche and I didn’t think he had the ring ready. There was only the two of us in the place. I didn’t know he reserved the entire lower dining hall so I kept commenting on why no one was there! A couple of hours into dining and drinking, he got on one knee and asked.
Excuse the pics, they were taken with his phone:

More about my future hubbie:
-He’s sweet
-He feeds me…ALOT!
-He loves food & wine as much as I do. But he’s not as picky as me when it comes down to it. He’s a virtual trash compactor and would eat anything I wouldn’t.
-We’re both lactose-intolerant
-He’s right-handed (I’m left) so we have plenty of space when we eat.
-He’s about to be a lawyer–maybe…lol. I don’t see it as his line of work though. But don’t mess with me or you’ll be lawyered!
-He loves coupons and is very good with money.
-Very organized
-He understands and tolerates me even when I am being VERY difficult.
-He’s the only significant other to have met my parents & entire family.
-Most importantly, he loves me greatly and is very kind. Possibly or definitely, he’s the best person I’ve ever met.
We’ll be running around doing wedding stuff. I’ll be shooting a lot more weddings this year so it’ll help me prepare for my big day as well!
Wish me luck!
Fashion Shoot in Cold Atlanta
I was underestimating Georgia’s bi-polar weather once again when I scheduled this shoot, hoping for fair weather like the week before (we were in the 70′s).
Unfortunately, yesterday was the first day of the cold weather-front hitting Atlanta, and it packed quite a punch! By the time we were out shooting (4ish), the sun was quickly going down and the weather dropped to 30′s with very harsh wind chill. It felt like 10 degrees! I’m happy my fingers are still functioning!
Brynne was an amazing model braving the elements without a bit of complaint. I love models like that!
We all worked hard on this shoot, and I’m sure it’ll pay off.
The edits should be done in a week or so–stay tuned…here are some teasers from the shoot:
P.S. The second picture was my first time using a beauty dish. It’s so awesome, love it!

Sweet November
So this past weekend was Thanksgiving/my birthday! I can’t believe a quarter of my life has passed me by, and sadly it has gone by so quickly; being 18 and 21 didn’t seem so long ago! Turning 24, I had a lot to celebrate: around this same last year, I picked up a DSLR and a lot of progress has been made since.
Another reason to celebrate is that I finally have one of my sites up (http://mynxstudio.com/luxe), it’s mostly for my commercial work and personal work. The bridal work is still underway as I still haven’t manage to fix the alignment issue in Firefox. Making the sites accessible for all browsers is difficult…
Now that the websites are almost all done, I’ll update more frequently.
Here are some pics of this past weekend. Sorry for the quality because some were taken with phones and some were taken under VERY low light. I had an amazing birthday!
Present on the doorsteps: Elinchrom silver beauty dish! Those who don’t know what it is: it makes the beautiful, beautiful! This will be used VERY frequently soon!
My second present, a Snuggie!
Italian Wine and sashimi appetizer @ Rathbun’s.
L-R Rathbun’s: Beef carpaccio with cheese and truffles, fish with pasta, braised lamb, mussels.
Dinner at Feast: Rack of lamb, lobster risotto, duck breast.
Final damage done at Apres Diem. Last and final drink…
Helloooo, It’s Been a While!
Sorry guys for the lack of updates, but seriously, I CANNOT get my mind off the website…I’ve been at it for possibly over a month now with breaks here and there for photography and makeup work. Ahhh, anyways, I am in dire need to do update!
To start things off, the website is going very well. I’m doing all the coding myself! I know I am such a nerd.
It was a little bit difficult, but now I’ve managed. Figuring out DreamWeaver (a coding software) is the hardest part since I’ve dabbled with html in the past but only on FrontPage (tell me I suck!). It was supposed to be finished a while ago. Unfortunately, I hired someone unreliable and I was left high and dry; thus, here I am talking about it with you all.
Okay enough moping, I’m actually glad I’m doing myself and I should’ve known better a while ago! I’ve put all this work and effort into it and made it much more special to me. I recommend anyone thinking of doing a portfolio to do it themselves too. You can better control everything you put up this way and update it without external help!
Next update: I’ve done several engagement shoots and some port folio shoots, all sent out and edited. I just need to make it blog friendly for posting. I’ll get to that soon after the website is done. First things first right?
Third update: I’m working on some new ideas for next year, most of which I hope are fulfillable. I’m possibly thinking too much! I’m also updating my commercial work portfolio and my bridal work. Bridals needs to be more diverse!
Fourth update: Next year, I’ll be working with an event planning company as the photographer. It’s actually for the Asian community, but I’m hoping to expand my demographics as well. This will be my biggest goal and I’m working on: expanding!
For now: I’m mostly working on my website and contacting collaborators to do some fashion shoots (I miss it). I’m going to more events and network. I’ve really got to utilize my resources because I’m lucky to be so connected. Definitely…
Here are some screen grabs from my upcoming new sites (there’s 2 in addition to the blog to be exact).
This is the plash page. It needs more work as you can tell…
This is the weddings and couple’s page (Mynx Photographe’): I need to add the info and fix this script. >.<
This is the fashion/beauty/commercial/personal work page (MYNX Studio) which was the original concept for my photography work.
As you can tell these pages need more work, but I think it looks great so far! Hehe. let me know what you think!
